Wood Carvings | Wood Carver and Instructor Bill Vittone
Carving has been in my blood for about 40 years. My first carvings during my youth were of small boats. I made them to float in the streams of thawing snow in my hometown in Upper Wisconsin. Since then, I enlarged my portfolio of hand carved wood art to include deep relief carvings of classic cars and tractors, rustic homesteads, and custom-made signs and commissions. I taught classes about Deep Relief Carving, my favorite technique, but stopped teaching them to make more time for creating wood art with my mother, also a fine artist and wood carver. The two of us donate much of our wood art and proceeds from our sales to charities including The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the Army Warriors Foundation. Many art exhibits and sales later (including to international buyers), and all of this happens in my free time! Did I mention I also work full-time doing physical therapy at Fort Benning, Georgia for some of the worlds greatest athletes! Luckily, my wife is tolerant of mountains of wood chips and shavings on our living room! If you have a special picture of your favorite pet, barn, flower, or anything else special to you—or you just want something beautifully unique to hang in that one spot, just email me. My email address is bill@twocarvers.com. I hope you will check out the website at www.twocarvers.com.
Then, I started carving clocks and signs as gifts. About five years ago, my good friend Mark (website developer extraordinaire), suggested showing my art on-line…
I will be happy to carve your memories into wood.
